Summer Cafe Vibes with Najing: A Cool Day Behind the Counter-A step by step guide by Anum Maqbool

Introduction: The Sweet Whispers of Summer

Hello everyone, it's your barista friend here! 🙋‍♀️ These days, it feels like summer has officially arrived. The air is warm, the sunshine is glowing a little brighter, and people are trading hot drinks for chilled delights. As the seasons change, so does the mood inside the cafe—and it's been a whirlwind of color, flavor, and fun. So today, I'm inviting you to step into a behind-the-counter experience and enjoy a full day at the cafe with me!

Whether you're a fellow barista, a cafe lover, or someone who just enjoys watching satisfying drink-making videos, this one's for you. ☕️💚

Chapter 1: Morning Buzz and First Orders

The day began with that unmistakable buzz of early customers eager to get their caffeine fix. My first drink of the day was a Hazelnut Americano. A classic! The customer added an extra espresso shot for that extra boldness. It’s always interesting to see how people customize their drinks.

Next came a Cafe Latte—smooth, creamy, comforting. Followed closely by a Melon Frappe. Oh yes, the star of this season. Melon frappes are trending, and for good reason. They are light, fruity, and perfect for this weather. I feel like I make at least ten of them daily lately.

Chapter 2: Red Flavor Returns

Around mid-morning, I had the chance to make one of my favorite drinks visually: Hibiscus tea—or as I call it, the "Red Flavor." The way the deep red swirls into milk or water is just mesmerizing. It reminds me of sunsets and berry sorbet.

As I poured it over ice, I had a little moment of appreciation. There’s something about hibiscus that feels nostalgic yet refreshing.

Chapter 3: Apron Troubles and Laughter Moments

While working on orders, I suddenly realized that my apron was slipping. At first, I thought it was just a small adjustment. But no, it kept falling down throughout the morning. The shoulder straps simply refused to stay up! Maybe I was just too busy to notice at first.

There’s something humbling and funny about these moments. They remind me that no matter how many drinks I can make in a day, my apron has a mind of its own.

Chapter 4: Midday Rush - Iced Heaven

Midday means rush hour at the cafe. Orders fly in like a rapid-fire round, and I need to be on my A-game. First, I loaded ice into cups. The crunching sound of fresh ice dropping into a clear cup? Pure ASMR.

On the left, I prepared three iced Americanos. To the right, a creamy cafe latte was ready to go. Then came a sweet and tangy Peach Iced Tea—a perfect fruit-tea combo for the heat.

Just as I was finishing, my apron finally decided to behave. Yes! Small victories.

Chapter 5: Chocolate Dreams and Yogurt Reunions

Next up was a Mint Chocolate drink. Refreshing mint mixed with indulgent chocolate—it’s basically a dessert in a cup. Following that, I prepared two more lattes and went all-in with the chocolate chips. Watching them melt slightly in the warm milk? Chef’s kiss.

Then something amazing happened—a Yogurt Smoothie order came in. I hadn’t made one in a while, and it felt like reuniting with an old friend. I gave it a warm little greeting: “Nice to see you again, yogurt smoothie~” 🙋🙂

Shortly after that, I whipped up two grapefruit drinks. The vibrant color and citrusy aroma filled the air. Then came the hibiscus again—Red Flavor, part two!

Chapter 6: The Herbal Ice Age

With the heat rising outside, herbal teas became the new crowd favorite. Iced herbal teas like hibiscus, chamomile, and peppermint were flying off the menu. Even I find myself drinking iced herbal tea after my second or third coffee of the day. It’s a nice way to reset and stay hydrated without going overboard on caffeine.

Chapter 7: The Thumbnail Moment

Then, it happened. A customer ordered the perfect drink combination, and I knew instantly: this was going to be the thumbnail for my vlog. I planned it in my head—four drinks placed in a row, milk pouring dramatically into a cup.

Was this my YouTuber moment? Maybe! 😅 I couldn’t help but laugh at myself while setting it up.

Chapter 8: Rainbow Latte Vibes

The customer who ordered these drinks had amazing taste. From sweet pumpkin latte to black sesame latte, I was basically making a rainbow of my personal favorites.

As I arranged them, I imagined a beautiful gradient from beige to deep charcoal. Though I accidentally switched the left and right sides, the final layout still looked gorgeous. It made me pause and admire how artful drinks can be.

Chapter 9: The Return of the Melon Frappe

Guess who came back again? Yup, the Melon Frappe! It’s clearly this summer’s MVP. Light, colorful, and oh-so-satisfying. By this point, I could make them in my sleep. 🤣

Chapter 10: Multitasking Madness

Things got really fun when I had to make seven drinks at once. It's a bit chaotic, but also super energizing. I admit I knocked one cup over. Typical Najing, right? 😿

Some viewers comment that they get nervous watching me carry multiple drinks at once. But I promise, it’s totally fine! My hands are big enough, and I’ve practiced this a lot. I can carry three drinks with ease. Don’t worry! 😊

Chapter 11: Doubling Up Smoothies & Winding Down

As the day came to a close, I got a double order of Yogurt Smoothies. It felt like the perfect bookend to the afternoon—starting and ending with old favorites.

Finally, the last order of the day: the best-selling Americano. Simple. Reliable. The hero drink of every cafe.

Closing Thoughts: Thank You for Watching!

And just like that, the cafe day came to an end. To everyone who watches my vlogs, leaves kind comments, or stops by the cafe—thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🧡

This summer is shaping up to be bright, beautiful, and delicious. Whether you're sipping iced tea, slurping frappes, or savoring lattes, I hope your days are as sweet and colorful as mine.
